Drivers are typically hired initially as a substitute with no guarantee of hours.  When/if moved to a permanent position, drivers have a guarantee of 4 hours a day with the potential for more hours as seniority increases.

AM shift typically starts at 6:30 AM.  PM shift typically ends by 4:30 PM

Bus Drivers are often the first and last school-based adult students encounter each day.  It is important that these individuals understand and honor the safety which is critical to the role as well as possess a personality which makes students and families feel welcome and safe on the bus.

 

There are two permanent runs currently available.  The substitute role is open to those wishing to take on a substitute role.  It is also the gateway to a permanent driver's position within the district.  

 

Responsibilities:

• Transport students as assigned, as needed

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid PA Driver’s License required
• Must possess or be willing to obtain a Class B-CDL license with School Bus and Passenger endorsements (Training will be provided)
• Candidates who already possess a valid CDL license are preferred
• Ability to relate and communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues
