Under the supervision of the Principal, the successful candidate works to be a positive contributor to the three-person administrative team at Strath Haven Middle School who is also an instructional leader who organizes and facilitates professional development, observes and evaluates teachers, assists in managing a safe and orderly building, communicates with all stakeholders, and is able to step in as a designee in the principal's absence. An administrator who is energetic and innovative and firm but compassionate, will find Wallingford-Swarthmore to be a great professional haven.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Secondary or K-12 Pennsylvania Principal’s Certificate
- Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience
- Previous administrative experience preferred
- Familiarity with PDE's Effective Educator Model and the Danielson Framework
- Understanding of student management systems and scheduling
- Experience coordinating state testing
- Experience with PowerSchool products (Schoology, E-Finance, PowerSchool, TalentEd) preferred
- Ability to relate and communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
- Experience with classroom supervision
- Must be capable of working in both Google Suite for Education and Microsoft 360
- Must possess fiscal competency to assist in the creation, maintenance and administration of building budget
- Must possess strong organizational, communication and administrative skills
- Experience with student activities and discipline
- Thorough understanding of the IEP process in Pennsylvania
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist principal in providing administrative leadership to promote student excellence
- Assist with restorative practices and PBIS
- Instructional observations, evaluations, and supervision of staff
- Assist in student scheduling
- Coordinate portions of professional development
- Supervision of students
- Assist in coordination of state testing
- Attending evening events (student performances, athletic events, etc.)
- Serving as LEA in IEP meetings
