Under the supervision of the Principal, the successful candidate works to plan, prepare, and deliver instruction to students as a whole group while differentiating for the needs of the individual. Responsibilities:
- Assumes responsibility of the School Nurse, including coordinating, planning for, providing direct services to ensure that the school district's health program, as defined by the Pennsylvania School Code, School District Policies and the PA Dept of Heath Division of School Health Regulations is carried out according to the specifics in the Law (Mandated programs) and within the parameters established for approved Modified programs.
- Access and evaluate students' health status by means of state-mandated screenings
- Assist in identifying students with special health needs affecting learning and growth
- Provide emergency care in case of injury or sudden illness; record treatment given
- Inform students, parents, and school personnel about health concerns
- Maintain all records necessary for the operation of the Nurse's Office
Qualifications:
- Valid PA Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Certified School Nurse Education Specialist credentials from PDE (CSN)
- CPR/AED certification
- Prior experience in school nursing highly preferred
- Prior experience preferred in nursing, community health nursing, critical care nursing, medical-surgical nursing and/or emergency room nursing
- Knowledge of current Child Abuse Law
- Ability to relate and communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues

Compensation is commensurate with experience in the role of a Certified School Nurse
