WSSD Extended School Year Program
Nursing Position
The Summer School Program is designed for students, ages 5-22, with varied level of needs The program will include academic classes, crafts, indoor and outdoor games, field trips, and sports. The program will run for five weeks (June 22– July 23, 2026); Monday through Thursday from 8:00 - 2:00 (Secondary); 8:30 - 2:30 (Elementary).
Responsibilities:
- Administer medications
- Provide ongoing medical support, including first aide for students, as necessary
- Supervise program of students who are considered medically fragile
- Interface with private nursing staff of individual children
- Work daily with summer panthers' program and, as needed with District summer school programs.
Qualifications:
- Valid Pennsylvania RN or LPN Licensure
- Ability to relate and communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and students
- Knowledge and/or experience working with special needs students
- Wallingford-Swarthmore School District employee preferred
- Must be able to commit to all scheduled days
Schedule:
- June 22 – July 23, 2026 (5 weeks), when needed and scheduled; Monday through Thursday
- Up to 6 hours (8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.) Secondary (8:30-2:30 PM Elementary
- Note: There will be one mandatory orientation meetings prior to the start of the in person on June 16, 2026 from 9:00- 1:00.
Salary: $50.00 per hour June - $52.00 per hour July (effective July 1, 2026 new rate per WSEA CBA)
