WSSD Summer Panthers Program Instructional Support Positions

 

The Summer Panthers Program is designed for students, ages 5-22, with complex needs.  The program has been designed to include both academic instruction, community based instruction, related services and recreational/socialization activities. The program runs 6 hours (8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.) per day, four days a week for five consecutive weeks.

 

Positions Available:

• Multiple Instructional Support positions, including teacher assistants and personal care assistants

Responsibilities:

• Assist teacher with classroom instruction and duties; work with individual students and small groups of students under the direction and supervision of the classroom teacher

Qualifications:

• Flexibility to assist within the Summer Panthers and Extended Day Program, as needed and assigned
• Ability to relate and communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents
• Knowledge and/or experience working with special needs students
• Wallingford-Swarthmore School District employee preferred
• Must be able to commit to all scheduled days

Schedule:

• June 24 through July 25, 2024 (5 weeks) Monday through Thursday
• Up to 6 hours (8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.) per day
• Note:  There will be one mandatory orientation meeting prior to the start of the program, in person on June 20, 2024 from 8:00 - 2:00.

Salary: To be determined in accordance with the WSESPA Bargaining Unit Agreement.
